Fuchsia Gym Challenge Released!
Last week I said I would make another gym challenge level and so this week I've started my brainstorm session for figuring out what the level will be like. GAME DESIGN TIME! For PTD in particular I often start by reading pokedex entries. I use to find them fascinating. I say "used to" because I don't find them as informative in the latest generations. So anyways.. I read the entries and try to formulate enemy attacks or level concepts based on that.

So for this level I decided to use Grimmer, Muk, Koffing and Weezing as the enemy for this level. Since those are Koga's pokemon (or implied) in gen 1. I could have also added in some from gen 2 and so forth but I decided against it. (As a developer you make a lot of these sort of arbitrary decisions very often. It helps that I'm making these alone so only my vote counts.)

So the notes I have so far are: Toxics combining, explosions, leave slime behind create grimer, they get close and new stench appears.

The next step is to start creating new moves and ideas on how I can mess the player up, or how the player might do something creative to stop the enemy. I still have to do this part but I'll be updating this blog post with my progress.  The fight is now out! Enjoy!

Champions TD Next Update Released!
Next up for Champions will be increasing the level cap to 6 and so adding new abilities for all the units in the game (they get them once they get to level 6 4 so most will already have the abilities once you play again.)

These are the current ideas for new abilities: (Note these are for level 4 so they won't be the best the units can get.)
Red = Completed
Mage - Counter Spell - Makes enemies unable to cast spells (enemies will cast spells in later levels!)
Warrior - Tear - Chance to make enemies take damage over time.
Rogue - Lock - Stuns an enemy for a short time. Cost a combo point.
Hunter - Tag - Hunter's tag a target so everybody can do more damage to it.
Paladin - Flash Heal - Healing move that can heal allies and itself in a pinch. High mana cost.
Warlock - Rain of Fire - Call down meteors from the sky on a target, damaging all units in the same area. Leaves a pool of lava that will hit enemies walking in that lane.
Priest - Shield - Give its allies a shield that absorbs damage only last for a while.
Shaman - Totem - put a totem that slows enemies down that walk by it for a certain amount of time.
Druid - Refresh - Give allies and itself a heal over time effect.
Boss Bandit - Summon Lacky - Calls a lacky bandit to fight on your side.
Tank Bandit - Spikes - If using a shield physical attacks against it will hurt the enemy.
Bandit - Pickpocket - Will sometimes steal money or items from enemies they are attacking.
Timothy - Annoying Hymn - Will sing a song that will heal all nearby units and hurt all nearby enemies.
Forest Hunter - Ice Shot - Shoot a long range projectile at the target that will freeze it for a time.
Brown Bear - Bite - Take a bite out of your target, it will also heal you. Requires 50 rage.
Grey Boar - Rage Stun - If the boar is charging his attacks have a chance to stun the target.
